Hello Everyone, Saturday afternoon the medical team decided I was able to return home. Oh what a pleasure it was to sit in a comfortable chair! I want to first thank my family for taking such good care of me for the past few weeks. We all got a lot more than we bargained for and so Mandy, Trevor, Reece, Nathan, Josee and Rick - THANK YOU. And thanks to all my brothers and sisters who spent time sitting with me and making sure Mandy and Nathan had someone to talk to. I'd also like to thank Fran and Cheryl - friends we've never even met. Both my kids found your voices of experience very helpful. And thanks to everyone for all their well wishes. One of my dear friends mother was also in the hospital and I went to say goodbye to them as I was leaving. I had a stack of paper work and they asked what all I had been given.... I of course replied.... a bunch of crappy hospital food, 5 more doctors appointments, 3 new prescription drugs, some bruised up arms, a big scar down my chest and .... a heart that works. I am already feeling better and hopeful things will continue to improve. My main goal is to recover quickly and be able to lift things by July when our precious granddaughter will arrive. I'll be home from work for a while yet so anyone who would like to stop in for a visit is very welcome. Thanks again. Crystal

Hi Everyone, So I was just up to see mom. She was a bit upset today as the staff told her that she likely has a few more day's that she will need to stay in the hospital. They are trying to regulate her blood as it is currently too thin from the blood thinner they started her on after the surgery and until they can regulate that they will not discharge her. So she's a bit frustrated and bored and has given me the go ahead to let people know that she is up to a few visitor's. She is doing a lot better and is her normal self again but the unit she is on has diet restrictions so no caffeine, sugar, salt products and also no flowers. She is in the General Hospital unit 3F room 2.

Well mom is progressing like we would all expect. She's been moved again yesterday to 3F in a semi private room which is not too bad. They have removed the catheter and she was even walking without her walker. She's pretty much back to her normal self other than the fluid which they are still medicating her for. Once that goes down a bit more she will be ready to go. She's craving all kinds of food and Rick even brought her pizza for supper last night. She's been walking like a pro and even went to Robins for some decaf coffee and outside for some fresh air yesterday. Hopefully a few more day's and she will be back home.
