Have not been on the site in some time but I am feeling as good as ever. I had my AV replaced with Bovine in Boston in July of 2013. My biggest anxiety right now is turning 40 in 3 weeks!! Coached my sons hockey team all year and really enjoyed being back on the ice 4x/week. Also continuing to run(when time permits) and consistently running 3-5 miles, 4x/week. As I reviewed the site it made me realize how much genuine care and support is out there and I need to make a point to come on here more to share and support.

Hi everyone! I just hit 9 months post op on May 1st... Life has been back to normal for about 5-6 months now. Coached my son's hockey team all winter. Running 4 days a week and did a hilly 10k road race in March. Wasn't the easiset time but got through it and felt great. Only issue that i am having is occasional dizzy spells early on in a workout or when i get up quick, anyone else have this symptom?? i'm thinking that it is from the mediation(beta blocker) as i am hopefully going off at one year or moving to significantly lower dose...Other than that things have been very positive. i hope everyone is doing well.

i am just over the 5 month mark of my surgery and feeling great. i had my surgery on July 1st of 2013 at Brigham and Women in Boston but just joined the site today. i decided to join b/c i thought i could be of help to others as they deal with their situation and their journey even though my surgery is over. as most of you know this is an ongoing journey and i feel so positive about my experience! i am running 4 to 5 miles 4 days a week at this point and my workout heart rate is in a great place.
