I am 43 years old and found out it February that I needed valve replacement and one bypass. The surgery happened on March 27th and everything went very well according to the surgeon. I spent 4 days in the hospital after the surgery and everything looked pretty much textbook.
When I went back to my cardiologist for my 2 week check up, he said I was right on track and everything seemed great. My only concern was my breathing was still not 100% and he said this would come with time. Before I left that day, I did bloodwork. The next day they called me and said that the my bloodwork numbers were really off and thought it must be a mistake. They had me go again and have blood redrawn. Within 45 minutes, they called me and said I needed to come into the hospital through the ER. At that point, I didn\'t even know what the problem was. I felt fine.
I spent 5 more days in the hospital. My kidneys are only functioning at 15% right now and I am severely anemic. Before my surgery, both of these were normal. A kidney specialist was called in and he thinks the lasik I was given after surgery caused the damage and it may or may not improve.
Now my blood pressure (that has been great since surgery) is running very high and Im having a sharp pain in my upper left side right above ribs.
I am writing to you guys in hopes that someone else has had a similar experience and has some insight and good news for me!
