I was diagnosed with a heart murmur in my mid 30s. Thought nothing of it at the time, just went on with check ups and ultra sounds every 2 yrs. This may however my doctor sent me to the hospital for an echo. Told I needed to see a cardiologist. The cardiologist asked me how I was feeling. Thought I was good just a little tired. I just thought it was because I had a demanding hospital job and was getting older. What a shock to find out I needed a cardiac cath. and surgery ASAP because I had a bicuspid aortic valve with calcification and stenosis. I am going through the rollercoaster of emotions. I can't believe this is happening to me. I found Adam's website and bought his book and they have been a wealth of knowledge for me. I am having aortic valve surgery the week of july 18th. at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford Ct. At this point I'm scared, but want to get it behind me and on the road to recovery.
