Early 50's with a highly mobile life, diagnosed with acute mitral regurgitation with ruptured chordae tendineae. First awareness was 14 years ago with the onset of a heart murmur and no other symptoms. Deterioration of the valve became more advanced in the past 12 months up to the diagnosis for now needing repair surgery.
