About Me

I was diagnosed in Dec '11 with mod/severe Mitral Valve Regurgitation. I have no history of a hear murmur or any heart trouble. It started when I went to my GP because of heart palpitations. She sent me to a cardiologist who did an ECHO. I was totally shocked to hear I will need surgery. Shortly after my first ECHO, I had a holter monitor & stress test with echo. The cardiologist changed my beta blocker which aleviated the heart palpitations for the most part. I am having another ECHO on 3/8 to see if anything has changed. Edit: Mitral Valve repair via thoracotomy scheduled for 6/4/12 at Yale University Hospital, New Haven, CT
