About Me (In My Own Words)
My story begins in 1975. A simple motorcycle wreck led to an ER visit which prompted a biopsy of a lymph node on my left clavicle. This led to a preliminary diagnosis of Hodgkins' Disease and a full blown staging surgery. I was diagnosed with stage IV Hodgkins' Disease and given 13 months to live on my 16th birthday. For the next several months I was treated with radiation and chemo. Now at 52 I am suffering from a thickening or stenotic valve caused by my treatment. I am ready to get it replaced and get back on the tennis courts! I have to go into the furnace of affliction from time to time for spiritual therapy and this will certainly create memories for a life time :) The Psalmist says he went astray before he was afflicted; I relate to that.
