About Me
As many of you might already know, I was born (05-15-58) with a congenital heart defect known as Tetrology of Fallot. That was finally corrected in 1964 by a Dr. John Kirklin, at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, MN. My mitral regurgitation was confirmed with a stress echocardiogram accomplished on May 1, 2009, when I was also diagnosed as having a heart attack. My cardiac catheterization was completed on 09-24-09, where the mitral regurgitation was noted to have worsened, following my cardiac MRI, and approximately 1 1/2 weeks later I underwent a trans-esophogeal echocardiogram. I have been referred to, and met with, a local cardiovascular surgeon, whom I like very much. I have researched his numbers and all look good. I have also found a surgeon in Arlington, VA, who studied under the physician that did my surgery in 1964. His numbers are stellar and I am meeting with him for my second opinion on Monday, 11/09/09. He considers my original surgeon to be one of the "World's Greatest", and frankly so do I.
