Hi, My name is Maria, I live in Boston in Massachusetts but originally from Spain. I'm 53 yo and very active and also positive person. However, I have to confess I'm afraid of what it can happen during and after the valve replacement surgery. I was lucky to be healthy all my life. I was never in a hospital excet for when I get burns at age 19 so severe that I ended in the burn unit for one month and, when I had a C-section to deliver my baby, who is now 14 yo. I like ice skating, rollerblading, skiing, jogging, dancing. Now less active since I have severe aortic stenosis, basically walking for an hr maybe five times per week. This winter I couldn't resist and I did downhill skiing and ice skating. Soon, but not knowing when I'll have surgery. I'm very happy to join this community and read your stories. Bye for now, Maria
