About Me (In My Own Words)
11/13/12
I am ninety-three yeas young and I still enjoy getting out of bed in the morning.
The last year or so I have been slowing down.
I have been told I have stenosis of aortic valve. Seeking to learn options. I do exhibit shortness of breath and tire easily.

Have found out I do have stenosis of aortic valve and that I would be a good candidate for replacement via "tavi". Go for a test this coming Thursday the thirteenth of Dec. so the docs can see if there might be any hidden complication that might block their passage of the femoral artery. I'm unsure what this specific test(s) is (are) called. I call it a "look-see".
If the way is clear then I wait to be scheduled. If not I believe that they have two other approaches available to them but I feel that the docs would if all possible like to use the Femoral pathway in.
I believe they, the doctors at this Hospital, will implant the USA approved and "commercially" available "Sapien" valve.
Since i'm new here and have not pawed around that much I wonder if anyone reading this may know if there are any words out there comparing the sealing abilities of the "Sapien" versus the "CoreValve"; once they are implanted over the "native-valve". Is one better than the other?
Thank all.

All is well. Docs say i'm in fine shape for the shape i'm in and that they will schedule the replacement procedure for the aortic valve sometime in the middle of January.
I give thanks for each day that is given and now I'am looking forward to a better quality of life after this op.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all !
