About Me

Jeffrey was diagnosed at the age of 16, when doctors heard a murmur. A barage of tests determined that he had a bicuspid aortic valve. The valve was monitored throughout Jeffrey's life and at age 47, the murmur was much louder and the valve had developed a Stenosis that was exerting immense pressures on his aorta. Even though Jeff was asymptomatic, the decision was made that due to the risk of "Sudden Death" the aortic valve needed to be replaced. After carefull consideration, Jeffrey decided to go with a mechanical valve rather than a biological (pig, bovine) valve.
