About Me (In My Own Words)
61 y/o father of five. Love riding my bike and a active member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saint. Married to a wonderful supportive friend my wife Jan.
I had my surgery on 2/18/2014 at the cleveland clinic by dr Gillinov, and referred By Dr Swartzman my new and only cardiologist.
At 4 weeks post op I feel like myself again except that I still get tired fairly easily. almost 2 weeks ago my wife fell in the snow and broke her right arm and just came home yesterday from surgery.
It is odd to have two post-op people in the same house. But with help from family and friends we are doing well. We feel like a couple of old gizzers and laugh about it.
I am so thankful that both jan and I are on the recovery path. We have had wonderful care so far.
I see my cardiologist next week and hope to start cardiac rehab. Jan will see her doctor tomarrow and will also probably need rehab for a orif of the right humerus.
In addition to the wonderful medical care, I have come to really appreciate friends and family and their prayers. Just after and just before surgery I was buoyed up by prayer. I am sure glad that my sister and brother in law were inspired to pray with me when I needed it most. I am so thankful to my heavenly Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for their love for me and my wife.
If you ever feel inspired to pray with someone please follow through and ask if they would like you to pray with them. It really was a blessing for me.
I wish all those who are facing heart surgery or recovering God's full blessings of peace and health and joy.
