About Me (In My Own Words)
It all started about 6 years ago when my heart rate dropped drasticly and I had to get a pacemaker. There was a lot of testing in the next few years when I was diagnosed with Aeortic Stenosis and was told I would need a valve replacement some day. In the last year I have had problems with afib that have made the problems more difficult. Yesterday the doctor decided it was time for surgery. I will go in Thursday for a heart cath and will have surgery several days later. I am just hoping I get some quality of life back.
I went in for the heart cath and was told surgery was recommended but no date has been set yet. I am trying to get ahold of the doctors to figure out the next step. I have not been diagnosed as serious but because of symptoms it has been decided to do the surgery now. I have been incredibly tired for a very long time and have fallen a few times because I passed out. I also have afib which makes it all worse. At times I am in afib for up to 3 days and that exhausts me. They plan to do the valve replacement and a maze procedure for the afib.
