About Me (In My Own Words)
I found out I had a Bicuspid aortic valve approximately 2 years ago after a bout of afib.
Thus began the usual echos etc. to determine when I would need surgery.
I was referred to Dr. Doug Johnston at the Cleveland Clinic by my Cleveland Clinic Cardiologist, Dr. John Abboud who practices in my home town. Most of my pre op testing was able to be done at my home hospital which was convienent.
On Monday, October 24th I have a repeat echo and a couple other tests at the Cleveland Clinic then meet my surgeon. My surgery date has been set for Monday, October 31st!
I have been following this website for a couple months. I appreciate the stories and experiences that have been shared. They have been helpful in gaining knowledge about this daunting surgery experience.
