Cecilia's Profile

My name is Cecilia, I am 54 years old, have aortic stenosis and regurgitation. I also have had Lupus for the last 13 years. I am scheduled for heart surgery on Feb. 8th, 2010. My heart surgeon recommended that I get a mechanical valve due to my "young age"(His words, not mine.) I was all set to get one when I remembered that I have Lupus and will be going to meet with the surgeon again on Thurs., Feb.4th. I don't know if it makes any difference or not on what kind of valve I have. I really would prefer to have a pig valve as I don't want to have to deal with the whole coumadin issue. I just wish the surgery was over with so I could get on with my life. Till next time.
