About Me
Hi, I am Angela, 55 Yrs old. I live in Poughkeepsie, NY for the last two years. I have been in living in Mesa, AZ for the past 32 years.
I just had a check up in Mesa with my heart doctor, Dr. Ambrosia. 2 1/2 yrs ago my aortic vavle was mild stenosis. I was so shocked to find out that my Aotic and Mitral Valve need to be replaced in the next year. I have had not symptons but since I was in Mesa for a visit I thought what the heck I might as well check in for new testing. I knew I was in trouble when I could not do more than 6 min. on the treadmill.
I got on the web and Googled valve replacements and found the great book by Mark Peck.
I have looked at many journals and plugged in the search engines some of my concerns. I was so surprised to find several people have had lymphoma cancer and had extensive radiation in their early teens to young adults. I have also had thyroid CA and now years later facing a valve replacement.
The surgery I can handle, its the recovery from open heart ssurgery of having the sternum opened.
The poor me says have I not been through enough. Two CA's seem to be enough !!!. I do not want the pain, the drugs, and not feeling well for months.
Anyway, I found a surgeon in Mesa on the surgeon's blog.
I am pretty sure I will go to Mesa to have the surgery since I have such a support group of friends and family there.
If anyone wants to give me input I would appreciate it.
Angela
