About Heart Valve Journals
Welcome to Heart Valve Journals, the world's largest and fastest growing community of patients and caregivers requiring heart valve surgery for conditions including aortic stenosis and mitral regurgitation.
Heart Valve Journals is completely FREE to use and was developed to support you, or your loved one, from diagnosis through recovery. Specifically, Heart Valve Journals will help you (i) stay connected with your friends and family during the surgical process and (ii) interact with thousands of patients and caregivers from over 100 countries around the world.
As a double heart valve surgery patient, I know that patients experience moments of loneliness and fear. That said, Heart Valve Journals was created to replace those negative emotions with positive feelings of support and encouragement from your friends, your family and former patients.
To accomplish that goal, Heart Valve Journals has many features to help you communicate with your support group. Once you create a Heart Valve Journal, you can:
Write your own journals (blogs) to keep everybody informed on your health status and condition.
Upload pictures so people can see and learn more about you.
Send email invitations to your friends and family.
Interact with other patients all over the world using the Guestbook feature.
Plus, Heart Valve Journals enables your support group to subscribe to your journal by email and RSS feed. That way, every time you update your Heart Valve Journal, your friends and family will know about it! For example, Carla Hansen, a recent heart valve repair patient, has many subscribers to her journal.
Interestingly, here is an actual picture of Carla checking her Heart Valve Journal at the Cleveland Clinic following her operation. Carla's surgeon was Dr. Tomislav Mihaljevic.
I am very, very, very hopeful that your new Heart Valve Journal will empower you throughout this surgical experience. If you have any questions or comments, please email let me know.
Keep on tickin!
