Carol Jackson posted a note for Terry that says:
Can you explain how alkaline water helps ou? Just curious. Glad to hear you are doing well. I just had surgery Oct. 8 and am making progress.
The Power of Prayer!! I thank God everyday for my parents and my whole family. I'm so grateful that the Lord made it possible for me to go to Florida to be with Mom and Dad during his surgery. I wish I could have stayed longer. The Lord gave me wonderful parents. I'm proud to be one of their daughters. I'm also proud of my sister Stacey. She has been a strong comfort in all this chaos. I'm so glad I got to spend time with you.
Now, as for you Dad. You better behave yourself and do as your nurses say! We all love you and can't wait for you to come up to PA again.
Stacey, make sure you give him kisses from me too!
What a beautiful story. That really touched my new and improved heart. So now heres to a speedy recovery. You will be amazed at the little things that you will do that we all do just for granite and now we celebrate each and every thing. So my advice is take it slow dont overdo. Listen to your body and the doctors too. Hope all goes good and welcome to the other side of the mountain.

So happy that that part is over, now for the firm hand of you, Sharon & Stacey, to keep that brother of mine down so that he will not over due! I am so thankful that you are there for them, hugs to Mark for sharing you
D & Aunt D
Thanks for the update Stacey which we look fwd to read everyday. Yes the roller coaster feeling in this case can be frustrating but we continue to pray for normalcy of the heart functions. It is so good that these things are noticed while in-hospital and proper tune-up can be done. Yes, the Lord is in control for sure and we keep trusting Him. love, GV
Hi Unka Terry... Ummm, what are you doing?? We are praying hard for a speedy recovering! Henry said to tell you Hello and to hurry up and get up of there! I will continue to follow along with your progress. We love you and are praying for a speedier ( :-) ) recovery. Love, Jana Kaye
Terry, waiting this out has to be frustrating! Know that you have lots of prayers coming your way. Hoping the specialist will find something obvious that can be easily put right. Glad to hear the valve itself is doing well. SB, AVS, surgery pending
Hey papa, grandma, and aunt Stacey. Sorry I didn't got to call this weekend. Schedule was crammed full with work, kids, a sick bf, and studying....but it paid off. I got a perfect score of 105% on my anatomy and physiology exam today. (Don't get too excited and raise your heart rate papa! Lol;)) Even through the busy schedule I've been keeping up with your status....I get notifications straight to my phone any time a post is made in your journal and check it on my breaks at work and school. Thanks so much aunt Stacey for all the updates!!! Glad to hear your heart rate is more stable and hope it stays that way so you guys can go home soon. All my friends at school have been very comforting are sending good thoughts and prayers your way!:) My friend Rachel especially said "Get better papa!" Lol:) Missing you guys terribly. Sky's bday is Friday and she doesn't have school and I'm off from both as well so if you could tell us a good time to call or just call me whenever we would love to talk to you!! Sending lots of love and hugs and kisses your way!!
Thanks again Stacey for the updates...it was so good to hear your dad over the phone and I wanted to make sure he does not exert much by speaking long on the phone.. Glad for the report and hope he enjoys the lunch and u guys have a good time watching the video together! Hope he gets to go home soon! love ya all-- George
Terry, so glad to hear the IV is finally helping! Things should get better now that your heart is not running a marathon all by itself! Hope to hear you are heading home soon! Sherry Bradford, AVS, surgery pending

He is in the best place with all the expert care in eveyr way. May our good Lord bring him through and continue His healing touch that he can be back hme soon. I went through the same thing with the afib after surgery. Ended up being in the hospital for 9 days trying to get my heart rate stable, but the amioderone did the trick. Unfortunately, they gave me a little too much and I passed out. Better there than at home though. Hope all goes well and they spring you soon!
God bless and good luck!
Hey Terry, The doctors will get you back to normal. We have been out of normal for so long I think we have forgotten what normal really is. Its great getting back to normal. Just hang in there you are doing great. Hope you have a speedy recovery.

Am looking forward to hearing more good news from you in the days to come
Love to you all
Terry, you are in my prayers. This is a rough and chaotic time but things are going to get progressively better! Keep doing those breathing exercises! They will help you not only physically but each deep breath in and out gives your body the ability to begin to relax. Prayers for you also Stacey! God is faithful and right there with you! - Sherry Bradford, AVS surgery soon
Praying for all of you during this difficult time. When I first learned of your need for housing, I actually looked on our vacation plan for excess inventory for you. but there wasn't anything close enough. I hope to meet you face to face some time. Perhaps at a Kangen Super weekend. Hope you are able to get Kangen Water while at the hospital. It really hydrates your body so quickly that your body ends up being able to heal quicker. We will continue to pray for you Terry and your family. Andrea & Phil Johnson.
I found this site a month ago and was interested in your heart journey since I am living close to you, am a Christian, and have rheumatic heart disease. One surgeon has told me I need mitral valve replacement rather than repair, so I am still in the process of figuring out what to do. I am so glad to hear that you are quickly recovering and healing. God bless you and your family!
It was so good to see the pics that were posted... it speaks so much more than words could tell. May the Lord continue to heal you Terry and strengthen you Sharon. Appreciate the regular update Stacey ,,, Eva and I do not fail to pray and trust the Lords hand in bringing you through these difficult days. May the Lord bless the Dr and the Team taking care of Terry. Yes, the Lord will surely provide for ur needs...
How I wish we could be there to help out...glad to hear you are steadily improving! Many prayers for you all as you travel this road (take care of yourselves, Aunt Sharon and Stacey!!). May God continue to bless you, and others, through this time....love you all! Vaneeta, Keith, and Hailey
Just heard from Les that she is almost home. We had a great adventure today! The drive wasn't bad, traffic was fairly light and we just missed the rain. So happy to hear that you are steadily healing.
Love ya ( to Mom and Stacey too)
My name is Scott, I'm 33yrs old with Severe Mitral Regurgitation, going to schedule surgery in a few months. Reading your journal has been very helpful in learning about the whole process. As a believer in Jesus the verses you have shared have resonated with my own journey.
I chose my Surgeon 18yrs ago when I accepted Christ, The True Surgeon of my Heart.

Glad to hear surgery was a success. Now comes the recovery part. Goona be tough. You'll be jogging in no time. Okay, maybe walking briskly. Save the jogging for those nurses bringing you everything you need to get better.
Thinking about you.
Love you sooooo much!!! Extremely happy to hear you're doing so well.:) Will call you this weekend as long as aunt Stacey gives you your stuff back. Lol:) Miss you guys. Hugs and kisses from the kids and I!
Welcome to the ex regurgitator team. Congratulations on youar surgery and make sure to take the pain management offered. You will be on a legal high but your body will recover faster and will thank you for it.
The recovery will feel slow, but take the time to rest and look back and you will see just how far you will have come in such a short time post surgery.
All the very best of speed for a swift and healthy recovery, you will be up and walking in no time.
Paul R. (Mitral Valve Repair, ex regurgitator and zipper club members as of 13 July 2012)
Hi Mr. Brooks,
Checked on you in the CVICU, but you were snoozing. Was happy to see you up in the chair, doing well! Hope that "cocktail" helped before surgery. I pray you have a speedy recovery.
Wishing you the best,
