I was just wondering how you are doing now? I had MV Repair in September (am 43) with two boys and think I should feel better than I do. I'm going in Monday for a stress echo but just thought I'd look around for other women (post MV repair) to see if my expectations were too high to begin with. Thanks so much, hope you're doing well. Hey girlfriend I'm praying for you for peace and calm, Jesus is in control and he knows what you need, I pray that God is in control of the doctors and you have a speedy recovery love you, Julia Brooks
Hi Summer, As I mentioned in an earlier entry, I had the mini-thoractomy procedure. In my case, there was very minimal downtime, and the 3" scar is barely noticeable under the crease of my right breast. If you do not have any other medical conditions, you may want to look into this procedure. Lynn (My e-address is email@example.com.)
Summer you are an amazing person and I know that everything is going to go in a positive direction for you. It may not always feel that way but I amongst many people are behind you and here for you! :) If there is anything you guys need...
Hi Summer. I'm about 6 months ahead of you, same story. Murmur at physical. Echo. Bad news. It was hard to believe so I did tons of research. Yeah, it was real. Smart, going in for a repair, you'll do great. -- DVB
Hi Summer, My name is Lynn - I asked earlier if you had a TEE. In my case, the echo showed severe MR but the TEE showed moderate-severe so my Cardiologist kept an eye on me for two years before recommending the surgery. I did have the minimally-invasive MR repair a little over a year ago and it went extremely well. I'm sure you will do fine, too. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Wow, Summer, totally unexpected but it sounds like you are handling it with grace and faith in God. I will be praying for you and please, please, please let me know if you need anything. I'm sure the MOPS ladies would be happy to bring meals or help out with anything else you need.
You are going to do great! You are young and strong, two important characteristics that definitely help the healing process! If you need any help at all, don't hesitate to ask, especially after Sage goes back to work. I am more than happy to grab the kids and take them with me and mine so you might get a few hours of rest. Best wishes for a very speedy recovery!
