Hey Kent,
I'm on both of those meds, 6.25 Carvedilol twice a day, and the Lisinopril. When I first took the Lisinopril back a month before surgery I had the hacking cough from it, and my wife was ready to leave me. I went back on it after my surgery and recovery. I choose to take it in the evening and haven't noticed the cough anymore (still married too). The beta blocker does drag me down a bit, though I have a fairly low dose, seems like yours is HUGE. I've also noticed a few very minor ED problems, which while concerning I might only be on this for a year. At this point so close to my recovery all the side effects are well worth it. I take a nap sometimes in the early afternoon......

Kent Barber Thanks Rob. I'll have to check back with you next year if you go off the meds. I had no cough, just tired, lack of energy, too many naps. Appreciating all the info I'm getting. So far I see no one with any warnings of bad results from going off the drugs so it's looking positive.

Hi Kent...I had mitral valve repair surgery 12 weeks ago. I was put on Carvedilol 3.125 twice a day. I don't get particularly tired, but I do get nausea, usually a few hours after taking the medication. Interestingly, this is the only prescription medication I was put on (I was however told take a baby aspirin and a multi-vitamin daily).

Kent Barber Thanks for the info Stephen. I had a total valve replacement plus maze procedure so maybe that made a difference. I'm on 20mg of Lisinopril & 50 mg Carvedilol. Maybe a lesser dose would help with side effects. Thanks

I was taking Lisinopril when I got out of the hospital for valve replacement 5 weeks ago. I had almost all the side effects listed for this medication. I was having a very hard time and thank God my doctor removed it and it made a world of difference in my recovery. I would not stop without his permission but for me stopping it has helped me move forward. Best wishes

Kent Barber Thanks for the info Dora. I am pretty tired of the side effects & am doing a little research to see if I can find others who have done well without these meds. My Dr seems to think they are necessary but I'd like to have my own knowledge rather than just depending on his. Dr.s can be wrong, Thank you again.
