LOL...that is soooo funny, Thanks for sharing, Maybe you can wear your new bra to the bar!! LOL, I ordered a couple little stretchy type sleep bras that I wore for a few weeks. They supported me better than nothing but not like a regular bra did. Once my incision healed I was able to wear my underwire bra again and it feels good. Good Luck! Thanks for the laugh today:):)

Oh, my gosh, Claire...that's so funny!!! Happy to read you are recovering well. What are you doing in regards to exercising? As for the bra issue during runningor cardio, runners tape over the incision works great and prevents rubbing from sports bra or any bra.
I am pleased to here you are doing well. Just to let you know my mum had had a triple by pass and valve replacement in March 2007. She is now well into her 80's and doing well, so I am sure you will be fine.
Hi Claire, so great to see your update and that you are doing well. My fortnight is tomorrow and all is going well for my too. Had my first follow up with my cardiologist today, he was pleased with my progress.
But, boy do I need a lot of naps!!!! Today, I needed a nap after my long hot shower, then another one after my outing to the Dr. OK, I also met my roomate from the hospital for lunch, so maybe I did too much, but I feel great.
So retail therapy is the answer huh!!! Good to hear that you are out and about. I have been home since past Saturday and feeling better every day. Walking out and about the place. Feel like taking a ride, but don't want to push it. Heard my valve last two nights, but not all the time. But as Adam says "Keep on Tickin". Take care
I am now 6 months and one week with my mechanical valve. When I am occupied in my mind I do not hear it.
When I am trying to go to sleep and ther is silence its like a bell going off between my ears.
The doctors say you get used to it....of course they never have had one.

Wow, you sound great. What a loving family you are blessed with. My family also knows that a cup of tea cures all. Keep up the good work. I agree about the girlie thinks. I just love a good pedicure.
Jane (10 weeks post op)
Glad to here you will going home soon. I can believe that it is the best place to recover. I will be having surgery tomorrow. I am hoping that it will move quickly for me also. I am good at doing what I am told!! Take care and toast a tea for all of us.
It took about 6 weeks for my breathing and coughing problems to clear up.
Sounds like you are making great progress.
I remember that first shower after surgery, it was like visiting a spa feeling refreshed.

Hey Claire, good to hear you are feeling better! I bet it feels so much better to get everything OUT! I understand your thoughts of "why did I do this?"...I find myself occasionally thinking..."you know, I don't think I'm going to do it!". Real smart Linda! I have moments now, before surgery, that I feel really depressed. I really miss not having my husband to help me through it. He thought I was the strong one, but it was just an act, lol. Seriously, enjoy feeling better, that's what it's all about. Don't overdo, if you need something ask for it and remember you have all of us pulling for you.
Still waiting...Linda Dixon
Claire I apologize If I stepped out of line on staying positive. I just got a call from a friend in calif..who reminded me that 'depression' might be a side effect. something we can't help. agggg. I have never been depressed and hoping I dont' get it. however, if I do, I shall come back and re read my oun post to you. !!!!

Hey Claire...not sure I would want heart surgeon doing colonoscopy, lol, you might end up (no pun intended) with an extra valve! Okay...that was bad, hope maybe it made you laugh. I know how you feel about keeping up the strong face for others...but let it go girl...you can blame it on the drugs!!! Do you have someone lined up to keep us updated tomorrow? Hope so. If they offer you more drugs...take it!
Okay Claire..I think the valium worked better than you thought! If my math is right, your last journal entry posted 10 times, lol!!!
Remind me to ask for valium!!!!
Hey... I think it's hilarious...a little humor always helps!
