Hi Cindy, I had surgery in Australia about the same time as you, mine was 2 Sept. Although I haven't posted my own story I have been following all the stories since my surgery. I too have been suffering pericarditis and now on steroids after it recurred with NSAIDs and colchicine. Happy to exchange notes if you want someone to share with, it's tough. Thankfully I only had pericarditis in week 3 of recovery (knock on wood). I don't recommend it. I think you should you stop it. It's not conducive to a quick recovery.

Gratz girl, I hit 9 weeks as well and have more walking stamina than I have had in many years. Walking through airports on business travel and ending my third week of work shows the recovery has gone extremely well.
We still have to make slow and steady progress so I do not want to hear about running up Mount Fuji or anything like that yet. keep the great progress up.

Cindy Wilson HI Mary Clare. My heart goes out to you. I struggled with having my 9 year old, I can only imagine how difficult it is wanting to hold your baby. I was not permitted to lift any weight above 3 lbs for the first several weeks, and not above 5 lbs until 8 weeks. I believe this is standard and I felt like anything exceeding that hurt. At 8 weeks, it was difficult for me to control a steering wheel - the chest area is just weak and tender. However, please keep in mind that I had Pericarditis. Because of that I am still limited in what I can do using the upper body. I believe you are still early on. Try to be patient. Setbacks are terrible. Wishing you a very speedy recovery!
