This is Cheree's sister in law. I have tried to sign into her page and have not been succesful as of yet. Cheree's made it through her surgery and is doing great! They took the vent out last night and today the goal is to get her up and walk. The doctors said the valve was in really bad shape and that she was on borrowed time. She will be in the hospital 3-8 days.

Can't wait to hear from you on the other side! It will be much easier than you think. Try to relax (I know it's difficult) and let your body heal. Prayers for you & your family & the surgeons & staff.

It is the 27th.of March and I am hoping you are able to have your surgery and offer up hugs and prayers. It can't be easy waiting but keep the Faith. I am not at the surgery stage yet but think it is just down the road and trying to remain positive and learn all I can from people like you! All the best,

Hi Cheree, good to meet you.
I can truly relates to the emotional rollercoaster that you are currently riding. I finally had my surgery on the 17th February, this was my 4th attempt, the first time I developed an infection on my gum and I had to have 2 teeth removed and wait for it to heal, the 2nd time I had been admitted and was just about to go into theatre when an emergency heart transplant came in, it was the same the third time, all prepared and ready, then a lung transplant came in, but then on the 17th I got it done, stay strong and think positive, its true that the hardest part is the waiting, but you also need to be strong emotionally, I thought I was prepared, and educationally I was, but it is a big shock to your body and that is what you need to be prepared for most of all, if you can do that your recovery ride will be a doddle. Keep me informed.

I will be praying for you. I will need this surgery one day also and the best I can do is pray for all those that are going ahead of me. I pray God's peace be multiplied to you as you wait and that his healing powers sustain you. Know that He is able!

I wish you the best in your diagnosis and potential upcoming surgery. My husband Steve had surgery last year and as a result I was very motivated to start a blog sharing our journey but also so that others can learn as well.
This morning I finished an article that addresses how important our emotional state can be especially before surgery. Hope I can be of service.

Hi Cheree, my surgery date was changed from the original date. It actually got moved up 1 week. I got home yesterday from aortic stenosis surgery. What help me prepare for surgery was my faith and trust in God. I could not have done it without Him! You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

A new date for surgery is good news. This means the cellulites is healed. now you can get ready for your heart business. you will be fine. Take care and merry Christmas. oh! The last time I had cellulites was a week after knee replacement surgery and they were afraid it was a blood clot,so they put me back in the hospital. No clot just inflammation.
Susan Smith posted a note for cheree that says:
Cheree, Glad your getting treatment for the cellulitis. I have had it several times. The IV's seem to take care of it for me. It should respond soon. Take care and keep your focus on the 19th.

So sorry you had to postpone your surgery. It is tough when you have to move the date. On the other hand, I am really pleased you were able to treat the infection pre-surgery. As you know, that is the last thing you want to deal with post surgery. Please let us know your new date. My best.

Hi my name is Debbie Jaeger. My valve surgery was on Sept 26, 2013 I went with the tissue for some of the same reasons you did. Also they say this should last 15 yrs or so and by that time a invasive surgery should be in place called the tavar procedure. That is what I went for but I did not qualify. At this point only the very old or sickly can get the procedure. The fda should be approving it hopefully soon for everyone. My Dr. thought for sure I would of had no problem with the Tavir but not approved yet.

Cheree, it sounds like a good decision to.
me. As I am not at the point of having to make the same decision , I believe that I would make the same one for myself. Stay focused and you will do just fine. Take care and keep on posting.

This is my first time here and yours is the first person I clicked. Serendipity, my surgery is scheduled for 12/5. I too have been told for many years that I had a heart murmur but that it wasn't unusual for a man my age. My new PCP referred me to a cardiologist who dx'd the prolapse. The surgeon wanted an angiogram which revealed some coronary artery blockages.
I appreciate your story, I'm not alone. But I am scared to death. This situation has made me recognize what is important. Since our surgeries are so close, let me know how you are doing.

This site is great to communicate with this community plus all your family and friends. I had surgery Oct. 8 and I am so glad to be on the other side of surgery. I look forward to hearing of your surgery. Be sure to have a family member know your password to this site so they can update our journal. Prayers come your way.

Positive thoughts. Things are going to be fine. You are going to feel so much better once you've recovered. I'll be 11 weeks post op this week and I'm already better on the treadmill than I was pre surgery.
You're going to do great.

Welcome to the HVJ. I have the same dx, but have not been scheduled for surgery at this time. I am moderate to severe and know from all these journals what will be coming and so like you I am getting ready, but have more time to get it all done. You will do fine. Just follow instructions and we all will keep you in prayer for a terrific outcome and a smooth recovery. Do keep us posted as you progress.
