I had similar issues with losing my voice and was very frsutrated since i could only whisper for about 4.5 weeks. It then became croaky. It took about 6 weeks before it was back to normal. When I was in the hospital, an ENT came in and looked at my vocal chords with a scope and said the chords were not paralyzed but they weren\'t moving like they should and that there is sometimes damage/swelling during the intubation. My surgeon said my voice loss was the worst he\'d ever seen. I hope Charlie\'s voice returns soon because I understand how frustrating it is and how difficult it makes for communication.

Charlie Crook Joyce. Thank you for responding. Charlie had his vocal cords scoped too. The ENT said basically the same thing about damage/swelling during intubation and that his chords basically look ok. At least now we know what to expect. Take care.
