According to a recent, population-based study, published in The Lancet Online, about 5 million Americans learn they have heart valve disease each year.
That is a lot of people, right?
For those of you who were recently diagnosed with a valvular disorder (e.g. aortic stenosis and mitral valve prolapse), this is one more piece of information intended to comfort you… You are not alone. Trust me, you are not alone.
