Atrial Fibrillation – What Is It?

Posted By Adam Pick On June 22, 2009 @ 9:35 am In Diagnosis | No Comments

Since posting a recent blog about palpitations after heart valve surgery [1], I’ve received several questions about atrial fibrillation, also known as A-Fib.

Most of the questions focused on “learning the basics” of this irregular heart rhythm. Luckily, I located a great, educational video which addresses the core questions about A-Fib so I posted it below.

I think this video does a great job describing atrial fibrillation, its symptoms, its causes and different treatment options.

Thanks to Dr. Kinn and Dr. Marc Gerdisch, MD, from the St. Francis Heart Center in Indianapolis, Indiana [2], for taking the time to put together this video.

I hope this video helped you establish a basic understanding of atrial fibrillation.

Keep on tickin!
