Adam,

Thanks so much for you website and book. I was diagnosed with aortic valve stenosis about a month ago and am scheduled for surgery on March 24. I’m 61 and thought this would come much later in life. I found your book and purchased it. That was my first step to coming to grips with this surgery.

I started my own blog, http://ronsheartsurgery.com to help me deal with the issues facing me both pre and post surgery, and to keep my family and friend appraised of how things are going. This blog helps me wrap my head around this surgery.

Thanks so much for providing the link to Dr. Guadiani’s video. Every time I read your web site I learn something new. I have mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation and have consultation appointments next week with two different surgeons. I am looking forward to having my mitral valve repaired as soon as possible. The information you are providing is giving me hope to see my two grandsons grow up. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I echo the compliments of Dr. Gaudiani and his partners at Pacific Coast Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons. I recently had mitral valve surgery in January 2009 and my surgeon was one of Dr. Gauidani’s partners; Dr. Conrad Vial. Dr. Vial had terrific communication skills and made me feel relaxed and confident about the surgery from the very first meeting in November. He was able to repair my valve using a less invasive “mini-sternotomy” technique and 5 weeks later I am well on the way to full recovery. Dr. Vial and his colleagues conscientiously followed up on my status and were always available. Dr. Vial and his team really did a great job and are very nice people to work with.

Very helpful video!

My mom was recently diagnosed with severe regurgitation from mitral valve prolapse. I appreciated hearing from Dr. Gaudiani about the so-called basics of surgery.
