NCAA Basketball Coach, Ralph Willard, Recovers After Robotic Heart Valve Repair

As I recently wrote in my blog “Trust Me… You are NOT Alone” [1], heart valve surgery impacts all different types of people (age, sex, religion).
Some of the most public people to have heart surgery include Arnold Schwarzenegger [2], Robin Williams [3] and Barbara Walters [4].
In March, Holy Cross men’s basketball coach Ralph Willard underwent successful open-heart surgery. Willard plans to resume his full coaching duties shortly, following his recovery.
Willard’s robot-assisted, mitral valve repair procedure [5] was needed for Willard’s leaking mitral valve symptoms [6]. According to Telegram.com, the surgery was performed March 27, about three weeks after HC’s season ended, at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center [7]. Willard, 62, spent nine days in the hospital before returning home to continue his recovery.
