I Met Dr. Donald Ross Earlier Today - Ross Procedure Inventor

Blog Topics: Donald Ross - Inventor Of The Ross Procedure; Interview With Dr. Donald Ross

Guess who I just got off the phone with???

Yup!!!

No other than Dr. Donald Ross, the inventor of the Ross Procedure, a special form of aortic valve replacement.

Donald Ross - Ross Procedure

(So you know, Dr. Vaughn Starnes performed the Ross Procedure on me in 2005 at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles.)

Anyways, for being eighty plus years of age Dr. Ross is still a firecracker. The innovative surgeon was at his office working away in London.

I have to admit, it was quite surreal speaking with the man who developed the procedure that was now part of my heart. I guess it was a very good kind of surreal. :)

We talked a bit about how thankful I was for his innovative ideas on surgical approaches to enhancing heart health. Then, we spoke about my book, The Patient’s Guide To Heart Valve Surgery.

It turns out that Dr. Ross is on his way to China tomorrow to speak at a few heart conferences in Shanghai and some other cities in China.

Amazing, right?!!!

Keep on tickin,

    Hi Adam,
That’s very cool to have an opportunity to talk to Dr. Ross. It must have been a special time. Maybe someday I’ll have a chance like that.

    Hi there Adam,

I have recently received the Ross Procedure as well, and you have sincerely accomplished something that I am striving to accomplish myself. An interview or just a few minutes with Dr. Ross would mean the world to me and I am actually going to England in August and would love to know how you got to meet up with him. Please Please Please write back and give me some input. This is my dream!

    Thank you so very much!

    Dear Adam,

I am Nabilah Ghaleb and I am 51 years old. Dr Ross did my surgery in October, 1973.

I am doing well. I have two sons - the oldest finished his bachelor degree and the youngest will finish next year.

I am doing my PHD degree I hope I will finish next year. I visited London in 2004.  I do not know how to reach to Dr Ross. I will go to London again soon. I highly appreciate if you could kindly tell me where can I find him - his address , e-mail , or anything you have which could help me.

    Thanks in advance,
    nabilah
