I had the aortic an mitral valve replaced when I was 25 and now I am 51. The valves are artifical and my health is good. My heart goes in to flutter about once a month. Many times I can bring it back to a normal beat. I have had two ablations and had cardio aversion.
My thought is with the scar tissue around the heart from the surgery I had back when I was 25 that another ablation will not help. I don't think there is anything I can do to correct this except to have a pacemaker put into me and I am not ready for that at 51. What are your thoughts on what I can do?

Trevor!

Two months after my aortic valve replacement, I became lightheaded 24/7 and have palpitations 24/7. I have been told its normal, not to worry, i probably had them before and blah blah blah.

It's hard to just forget about them. I have 10 per minute. It's terrible! You are not alone :)

Hi Adam,

I am 2 months post op aortic valve replacement. Tonight I went to the ER because I felt my heartbeats were irregular.

Sure enough I was told that I have slight Premature Ventricular Contraction. The ER told me not to worry as my EKG was alright. The Dr told me to follow up with my cardiologist. They said my blood work and everything else was good as well. I am confused as I am on lopressor 50mg per day since the surgery, and this medication is supposed to control the PVC.

My Surgeon and cardiologist seemed not too concerned with my mention of palpitations in the past. I wonder how they will feel about a constant PVC now. Truth be told its very unnerving to feel palpitations every 10 -20 secs.

Am I alone here? I'm sure I'm not the first to experience this?

Thank you,
Trevor
