Heart Valve Surgery Video: How Blood Flows In The Heart?

Hey everybody,

Understanding the anatomy of the heart is really helpful as both patients and their caregivers consider heart valve surgery – either valve repair or valve replacement.

From my own experience with aortic and pulmonary valve surgery (via the Ross Procedure) [1], I know that you may hear words and medical terms that are completely foreign to your ears – especially when it comes to the anatomy of heart valves – bicuspid, leaflets, calcification, buckling, etc.

That said, I thought you might like to see a heart valve video that focuses on the anatomy of the heart, how blood flows through your heart and how the heart valves work. The nice thing about this heart valve video is that it is relatively easy to understand. Plus, you will see, first hand, the mitral valve, the aortic valve, the tricuspid valve and the pulmonary valve in the illustrations and diagrams provided in the video.

Keep on tickin!
